Faridabad Nagar Nigam Chunav Results: The counting of votes for the Faridabad Municipal Corporation elections took place today, with expectations of a tight contest between the BJP and Congress. However, voter turnout remained significantly low this time.
In the first civic election held after seven years, the city's voter participation dropped by 15 percentage points, falling from 55.7% in 2017 to 40.6% on March 2, Sunday. According to Election Commission data till 10 PM, only 5.9 lakh out of 14.7 lakh registered voters exercised their franchise.
A total of 93 candidates are competing for 46 councillor seats in the MCF House, along with the crucial mayoral position. BJP's mayoral candidate Praveen Joshi won the prestige battle against Congress by a margin of 3,16,852 votes. Joshi got 4,16,927 votes while Congress candidate Lata Rani got 1,00,075 votes.
