ANI reported, citing sources, that the call came from Iranian President Pezeshkian in the wake of the US attack on the Iranian Nuclear facilities. The call between the two leaders lasted 45 minutes.
The President described India as a friend and partner in promoting regional peace, security, and stability and thanked PM Modi for India's position and call for de-escalation, dialogue, and diplomacy, according to ANI.
Calling the US strikes on Iran's alleged nuclear sites "very successful", Trump on his Truth Social platform informed that the targets included Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordo.
"All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home. Congratulations to our great American Warriors. There is not another military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE!" the US President added.
The conflict between Israel and Iran entered its ninth day on Saturday, with the US now a part of the tensions.
The conflict between Israel and Iran started after Jerusalem, on June 13, launched a massive airstrike on Iranian military and nuclear sites, codenamed "Operation Rising Lion."
In retaliation, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched a large-scale drone and missile operation, "Operation True Promise 3", targeting Israeli fighter jet fuel production facilities and energy supply centres.
According to ANI, the Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, earlier said that an emergency meeting would take place on Monday in light of the developments taking place in West Asia.
Earlier in the day, the IAEA confirmed that there has been no reported increase in off-site radiation levels following the recent strikes on three key nuclear sites in Iran, including the underground enrichment facility at Fordo.
Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, on the other hand, praised the military action under the leadership of Trump, stating that the US President’s bold decision to target Iranian nuclear facilities will change history.
