Mumbai Rains: Mumbai faced significant disruptions on Monday due to heavy rainfall, with flight operations impacted and widespread waterlogging on roads and railway tracks, causing train delays.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow alert for Mumbai, with a warning for the residents of continued heavy showers that could lead to further disruptions. A high tide and a low tide alert have also been issued by the BMC.
Mumbai Police has issued slower traffic movement in several areas, including J.J. Bridge South Bound, Band Stand Junction, Worli Naka A.B Road North Bound, Elphiston Bridge, Narayan Dabholakar Road, Freeway South Bound, Avatar Singh Bedi, and Andheri Subway.
As per the Regional Meteorological Center, Mumbai thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and intense spells of rain with gusty winds reaching 50-60 kmph is very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Mumbai during the next 3-4 hours.

As per the IMD, heavy to very heavy rainfall & thunderstorms with lightning & gusty winds (50- 60 kmph) are expected at isolated places in the city.

The flight operations have been also disrupted since morning. SpiceJet in a post on social media informed that all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights are affected due to heavy rain in the city.
"Due to bad weather (heavy rain) in Mumbai (BOM), all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights may get affected. Passengers are requested to keep a check on their flight status..." the post read.

The incessant rain also caused massive waterlogging on railway tracks, triggering delays in the services of local trains, which ran 5 to 10 minutes behind their scheduled time. As per several reports, fast trains going towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus are delayed by around 10 minutes. Trains on the Harbour and Western lines are also facing similar delays.
Rain has lashed parts of the city since morning, causing trouble for the commuters.
