New Delhi: India launched its military offensive Operation Sindoor against Pakistan to serve justice to the victims of April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 innocent civilians. Pakistan launched counter offensive by launching a barrage of missiles and drones. India responded to the attacks decisively and swiftly. While the missiles and drones were neatralised in the blink of an eye and minimised damage on Indian soil, Pakistan suffered heavy losses.
Let’s take a look at who came out worse in the 87 hours of intense conflict.
From Rajasthan to Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan attacked several Indian states with missiles and drones. In retaliation, India delivered a crippling blow to its neighbor both militarily and economically. Apart from significantly losing military assets, Pakistan also suffered severe economic damage during the deadly exchange. The conflict further deepened the existing financial woes of the nation – which is already grappling with a major economic crisis.
India is said to have destroyed two of Pakistan’s F-16 fighter jets – each valued at around Rs 500 crore. In addition, it shot down two JF-17 fighter jets – which are valued at about Rs 120 crore each.
The real blow came when India destroyed a Pakistan Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) plane in Punjab, worth a staggering Rs 5,845 crore.
So, Pakistan faced an overall loss of nearly Rs 7,900 crore.
Already in dire straits, Pakistan’s economy was further wounded in addition to the direct military damage. Coupled with the ongoing military pressure, the cost of losing these assets exacerbated the nation’s already precarious financial situation. What was once an already difficult economic recovery for Pakistan has now become even more challenging due to the outcome of Operation Sindoor.
India’s losses, on the other hand, were far less significant. The country dealt with the conflict with great strategic intelligence and minimised its casualties. It tragically lost 23 soldiers, whose sacrifice remains irreplaceable, during the 87-hour tension.
However, Pakistan’s attempt to create disinformation through social media failed to materialise. All rumors and false claims made by Pakistan were debunked swiftly.
In nut shell, Operation Sindoor demonstrated India’s superior military strategy and preparedness, dealing Pakistan a crushing blow both in terms of military assets and economic stability.
