Seema Haider, a Pakistani national who left her husband in her home country and illegally moved to India in 2023 to marry her lover Sachin Meena, is now facing trouble amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan.
Recently, the video of Seema Haider went viral on social media, in which she made an emotional appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, requesting permission to stay in India.
"I was once a daughter of Pakistan, but now I am the daughter-in-law of India. Please let me stay here," she said in a video.
The Government of India has announced the cancellation of all visas issued to Pakistani nationals effective April 27, while medical visas will remain valid only until April 29. As a result, all Pakistani nationals residing in India have been instructed to leave the country. The decision comes in the wake of the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, in which 26 people were killed.
Seema Haider is from the Sindh province of Pakistan. In 2023, she illegally entered India via Nepal. She claims to have married Sachin Meena, a resident of Greater Noida and has also converted to Hinduism. The two first met in 2019 while playing an online game together.
