Thiruvananthapuram MP and senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Thursday agreed to have some differences with members of the party leadership and said that these issues can be sorted out in closed-door conversations.
Reacting to the ongoing Nilambur by-election election, Tharoor stated that he was not invited by the party for the election campaign.
"I was not invited by the party (for Nilambur by-election campaign)... Yes, there may have been some differences between me and the leadership. Those can be sorted out in closed-door conversations... So far, no one has reached out to me," said Tharoor.
"Congress party, its values, and its workers are dear to me. I have been working with them for the past 16 years, and I have seen their commitment, dedication and idealism," he added.

As Kerala's Nilanmbur assembly constituency is under by-polls, Tharoor said it is not a time to discuss disagreements as polling is ongoing.
"... Today is not the time to talk about those issues (His disagreements with the leadership) as the polling is ongoing, where I wish to see my friend (Congress candidate) Aryadan Shoukath) win it. Some of my disagreements with party leadership are reported in the media, so it cannot be hidden," he said.
"Our Congress workers worked hard and honestly there in Nilanmbur. We have an excellent candidate. I wish to see the result of their work," he added.
Nilanmbur Assembly's constituency is under polls today with around 2 lakh voters expected to vote for their representatives.
Ten candidates are in the competition for the ongoing Milanmbur assembly by-election, including the frontrunners Aryadan Shoukath of the United Democratic Front (UDF) and M. Swaraj of the Left Democratic Front (LDF).
