New Delhi: Emraan Hashmi has been diagnosed with dengue and has reportedly taken a break from the shoot of his Telugu debut following the diagnosis. According to a report by Hindustan Times, Emraan was shooting for the pan-India film OG, alongside Pawan Kalyan. The filming was taking place at Mumbai’s Aarey Colony in Goregaon.
The disease is suspected to be a result of the early monsoon season in Mumbai. According to the report, Emraan began experiencing symptoms during the shoot and is currently recovering. There has been no official confirmation from the actor’s team as of yet.
OG marks Emraan Hashmi’s Telugu film debut, with Pawan Kalyan in the lead and Priyanka Mohan as the female lead. Emraan will be seen playing the character of Omi Bhau. The film is slated for a worldwide release on September 25, 2025, and the production team hopes to resume shooting soon.
On the work front, the Jannat star is also set to appear in another Telugu film titled G2, directed by Vinay Kumar Sirigineedi. The movie is a sequel to Goodachari and features Adivi Sesh, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Madhu Shalini.
Another upcoming project includes an untitled film with Yami Gautam, based on the 1985 Shah Bano case. In the film, Emraan will reportedly portray Shah Bano’s husband, Mohd. Ahmed Khan, who had refused to pay her maintenance after giving her triple talaq.
Most recently, Emraan was seen in the film Ground Zero, where he played the role of BSF Deputy Commandant Narendra Nath Dube. The film was released on April 25, 2025, and received a lukewarm response from audiences.
