'Manasellam' Tamil Actor Srikanth Arrested In Drug Abuse Charges

Tamil actor Srikanth has been arrested by Chennai police on Monday over drug abuse charges.

New Delhi: Tamil actor Srikanth was arrested by Chennai police on Monday in connection with drug abuse charges.

According to a report by India Today, he was brought in for questioning at the Nungambakkam police station. The actor’s blood sample was reportedly collected and sent for testing.

Following a detailed interrogation, he was arrested by the police for his alleged links with Prasad, a former AIADMK functionary who was recently arrested.

According to the report, Prasad claimed to have supplied drugs to the actor.

Who Is Srikanth?

Srikanth was born in Chennai to a Tamil mother from Kumbakonam and a Telugu father from Chittoor. He grew up in Hyderabad while his father worked at the State Bank of India.

He has worked in both Tamil and Telugu films. In the Telugu film industry, he is known as Sriram to avoid confusion with another popular actor. Srikanth made his debut in the Tamil film Roja Koottam in 2002 and went on to deliver back-to-back hits such as April Madhathil, Manasellam, and Parthiban Kanavu.

In 2023, he ventured into the Telugu industry with Okariku Okaru. He is best known for his performances in Bose, Kana Kandaen, Adavari Matalaku Ardhalu Verule, Poo, Nanban, and Coffee With Kadhal, among others.

He was last seen in the Tamil film Konjam Kadhal Konjam Modhal.
