Pavan Davuluri Microsoft: Pavan Davuluri, an alumnus of IIT Madras, has been named the new head of Microsoft Windows and Surface. He takes over from Panos Panay, who departed for Amazon last year.
Previously leading the Surface group, Davuluri will now oversee both the Windows and Surface divisions. This leadership change comes after Panos Panay's exit in September, which resulted in his responsibilities being divided between Davuluri and Mikhail Parakhin.
A graduate of IIT Madras, Pavan Davuluri also completed his post-graduation at the University of Maryland, according to his LinkedIn profile.
He began his career at Microsoft in 2001 as a Reliability Component Manager.
With over 23 years at Microsoft, Davuluri has worked on Windows, Surface, PC and Xbox hardware, taking on multiple leadership roles.
In 2021, he was appointed Corporate Vice President for Windows and Silicon & Systems Integration, focusing on optimising Windows for Arm-based devices.
Davuluri spearheaded the development of Surface processors, partnering with Qualcomm and AMD, and contributed to projects like Bing, Edge, and Copilot.
Microsoft has been gearing up for next-generation AI features and Arm-based Surface hardware under new leadership, with Mustafa Suleyman joining as CEO of a new AI division.
